Mechanical Licensing

New mechanical services licencing requirements commenced on 1 January 2020. The new licensing framework will be implemented in stages.

From 1 July 2020, contractors must be licenced to carry out mechanical services work.

From 1 January 2022, all workers must be licenced to carry out mechanical services work.

Your circumstances will determine your pathway to obtain the licence you need.

We understand that this may be confusing and you may have questions regarding how this impacts you, we will be investing significant resources to assisting these members in navigating the changes.

As there is a two-year grace period for workers to become licensed, no member need stress that their immediate circumstances are at risk.
