Counselling Service

Members can access expert assistance and advice at no cost from experienced counsellors who can help deal with personal/ family relationship difficulties,drug and alcohol issues or any other problems members may be facing. Counselling is confidential and free to all members.

Advice and Support

Joining the PPTEU is the best thing you can do to protect your rights at work. You will receive
specialist advice and assistance and have a voice at the table during enterprise bargaining negotiations.

Accidental Dental Cover

Financial members and their immediate family (up to the age of 70) are covered for dental
costs associated with any accidental damage caused to their teeth.

Provider CEPUTEC, is now up and
running, offering EWP over 11m,
Forklift, Confined Space, Working
at Heights, Scissor Lift under 11m
and First Aid.


Financial Planning

Financial Union Members are able to receive assistance with financial advice at no cost. Contact BERT on 1300 261 114.

Employment Register

The PPTEU has an employment register for members who are struggling to find work in the industry; we endeavour to give members on the register the opportunity to connect withrelevant employers and find work as quickly as possible.

Union Shopper

Union members can access huge savings on a wide range of goods and services through the Union Shopper. Save money on white goods, furniture, travel, security screens, movie tickets, cars and much more.


The Building Employees Redundancy Trust (BERT) provides redundancy benefits and training grants to members working in the building
industry. Members can access their redundancy funds upon being made redundant or permanently leaving
the building and construction

Legal Advice

Legal advice is available for financial members of the union and their partner through the Union’s solicitors Hall Payne Lawyers.

Child Care Subsidy

In the event of the death of a members’ spouse, financial members can access assistance with child care payments for up to two years.

Industry Superannuation

BussQ’s sole focus is to provide superior retirement lifestyle for members in the building and construction industry. BussQ is a non-profit, for members super fund which means fees are kept to a bare minimum.

Low Cost Banking Service

Members Equity offers members low cost banking services including home loans, low interest rate credit cards as
well as savings accounts and personal loans.

Travel Insurance

Travel insurance covers you, your accompanying spouse/defacto and dependent children when travelling for more than 250km from your usual place of residence within Australia or overseas for up to 180 days.

The Union works in conjunction with the Queensland Building and Construction Commission to ensure compliance with licensing requirements for member working in local authorities.

Industry Owned Training

The Services Trades College Australia is a dynamic, industry-owned, not for profit, registered training organisation that provides high quality trade and post trade training in the fire protection, mechanical services and plumbing sectors.

Services Trades Qld

STQ is a fund in which EBA employers contribute.
All members of the PPTEU receive a discount on all post trade training undertaken through STQ.

Portable Long Service Leave

Qleave is a scheme designed to
allow members access portable long service leave. The scheme allows workers to accrue long service lave benefits for eligible work performed in the building and construction industry, regardless of the number of
employers they have.

Union Owned Health Fund

Union Health is 100% member owned and act in the best interests of members, not shareholders.
